Queer Health Alert

Ok so let me ask you all this.  When was the last time that you went to a public restroom or even the restroom at your own place?  Well I hope that you all did this when you did use the facilities.  Does anyone want to guess what I’m hoping that you all did after your memorable time in the restroom.  I’m talking about hand hygiene.  Come on everyone does it take that long to wash your hands after you use the toilet?  I can’t believe how many men I have seen coming out of the restroom without washing their hands.  I actually wash my hands and use hand sanitizer afterwords.  Yes I’m sure that your probably thinking what a freak right well I have my reasons for doing this especially in public places.  I’m a Medical Assistant with laboratory experience and I know of all the things that you can get in public restrooms.  It’s not something to be alarmed about but use common sense it is a public restroom.  My point for the day is wash your hands people.  By the way just because im a man doesnt mean that i’ve only observed men doing this.  I’m sure there are plenty of woman out there guilty of this as well.

  1. For context, I spent 3 weeks in intensive care, and then had open heart surgery at Kaweah Delta Hospital in Visalia. That was 2006.

Those were two separate (but related) experiences, and my mother sat by my bed through both.

When she got her sense of humor back, she told me she wished she had invested in rubber gloves and hand sanitizer.

My great-aunt (born 1912) just died in a convalescent facility in Fresno. She was in there for about two months prior to her death.

On our first visit, I noticed that there were no gloves and no hand-sanitizer. Apparently, that’s okay when the institution is warehousing old people.

    Major offensive, to me.
